Kwara APC urges voters to go out en masse to perform civic duty as campaign ends

• urges voters to go out en masse to perform civic duty

Kwara State All Progressives Congress has told its supporters to suspend all categories of campaign as the law clearly disallows any form of campaign 24 hours to the election.

“We hereby notify our members that the windows allowed for political campaigns have closed at midnight on Thursday. We therefore appeal to our members to respect the law. Contrary behaviors will be a breach of the law, and the APC as a party will not be party to or responsible for that,” according to a statement by the party’s spokesman Alhaji Tajudeen Folaranmi Aro.

“The next phase of this process is for all our supporters and the people of Kwara State who are eligible voters to ensure they come out in large numbers on Saturday March 18 to cast their votes as part of their civic duty and an affirmation of their support for the candidates of their choice. Sitting down at home is not good for our democracy. Neither does sitting at home on Election Day help any efforts to consolidate the democratic gains so far recorded in Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole.”
