Ministry of Health’s survey shows Kwara under Gov Abdulrazaq as the best state in which a child can be born and raised

Last night, I received the newest Federal Ministry of Health’s survey which shows Kwara under our watch as the best state in which a child can be born and raised (NDHS, 2024).

At 14/1000, the report shows that our state has the lowest under-5 mortality rate in Nigeria.

While this report tells us that our investment in primary health care is a step in the right direction, I assure the people of our state that we will not become complacent. We will do more to make things a lot better.

We are indeed proud of the current standing of Kwara State under our watch.

GOVERNOR DAUDA LAWAL DEFECTS TO ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS ( APC)

BREAKING

Zamfara State Government Press Release::

GOVERNOR DAUDA LAWAL DEFECTS TO ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS ( APC)

The Government and APC family of Zamfara State wish to formally inform the general public of an important political development following extensive consultations with stakeholders, political leaders, elders, and supporters across the state.

After careful consideration, and in the over riding interest of stability, progress, and the sustainable development of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, has decided to formally defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This decision was reached after wide consultations with political stakeholders and supporters, particularly in view of the prolonged internal crisis, leadership disagreements, and unresolved structural challenges within the PDP at both the national and state levels. These challenges have continued to create uncertainty and distractions that could hinder effective governance and the delivery of democratic dividends to the people of Zamfara State.

The Governor emphasized that his primary responsibility remains the peace, security, and development of Zamfara State. Consequently, it became necessary to align with a political platform that provides greater unity, stability, and stronger cooperation with the Federal Government for the benefit of the people.

The final deliberation leading to this historic decision was held at the Government House in Gusau under the coordination and leadership of the Deputy Governor, alongside senior government officials and key political stakeholders.

His Excellency expressed deep appreciation to members and supporters of the PDP for their cooperation and support over the years. However, he noted that the present political realities and the unresolved crisis within the party have made it necessary to take this bold step in the interest of good governance and the future of Zamfara State.

By joining the APC, the Governor reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening unity, improving security, accelerating development, and ensuring that Zamfara State benefits fully from stronger collaboration with the Federal Government.
The Government therefore calls on all citizens, political leaders, party supporters, and stakeholders to remain calm, peaceful, and supportive as the state enters this new political phase aimed at promoting unity, stability, and development.

Give all aspirants fair chances, work harder for victory, Gov Abdulrazaq tells newly inaugurated Kwara APC Excos

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Wednesday asked the new executives of Kwara APC to work harder and create a fair playing field to all aspirants at the coming party primaries.

Speaking in Ilorin at the swearing-in ceremony of the state executives of the party, the Governor congratulated them on their emergence.

AbdulRazaq described the APC as a very big house that accommodates everybody, urging the party leaders to continue to work hard for the party.

“Once again, I say, congratulations to you all. You have done well and that’s why there was a consensus to support you to continue,” the Governor said.

“Your work is cut out for you. In the next few months, you will face a lot of pressure from party members because the primaries are coming and people have various interest. Each person who wants to contest has his or her own plans for the state. That’s why they are contesting and don’t (as party leaders) see any of the aspirants as antagonists or enemies.

“They all have a lot to offer to the state. Try to give them a levelled playing field in whatever you do. All we are trying to do here is to make sure that we leave the state better than how we met it.

“I want you to rally round the Chairman because your support will make him succeed. If the Chairman fails, you all fail. Therefore, I wish you all the best.”

State APC Chairman Prince Sunday Fagbemi, for his part, said they will be fair to all.

“We have committed ourselves to do right to all manners of people, not to some people,” he said.

“Earlier on, we had scored 100 percent for the party. We have all the council chairmen and councillors, we have all the House of Assembly members, we have all the National Assembly members, we have the Governor and his Deputy.

“What we should aspire for now is to enlarge the margin of victory. We have really not lost anybody in the party, rather, some people that fought against us in the last election are part of us now.”

Chairman, Congress Committee, Dr. Alibe Alkali, congratulated the newly inaugurated executive members for being duly elected in line with the party’s constitution.

The swearing-in of the new executive members was led by Chief Titus Ashaolu, SAN.
