Campaign after Election is inimical to peace, APC warns

Campaign after Election is inimical to peace, APC warns

Our attention has been drawn to the attack on the party chairman, Alh Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa in Moro local government by some perceived  party loyalists.

While we condemn the attack in the strongest term, we appeal to the party chairman to restrain from behaving in a manner that will suggest antagonism against the government of the day given his antecedents since the inception of the  administration of Gov Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq.

It is equally worrisome the statements on the social media by some party linchpins linking the unfortunate incident to the Governor and the state government.

We wish to state unequivocally that at no time did the Governor involved himself in the party internecine war.
We appeal to the decerning public to ignore this untruth.

Intra party squabble is not alien to party politics all over the world,we therefore appeal to aggrieved party faithfuls to explore the window of reconciliation put forward by the National Working Committee with constitution of a powerful reconciliation committee to look into member’s grievances with the hope to settling them.

To this end, memo have been sought from aggrieved members and this window of opportunity should be explored to settle our differences without any rancour.

We therefore appeal to the party chairman and his entourage to give peace a chance while waiting for the
reconciliation committee’s visit to kwara state.

We urge all party members to avail themselves with the party constitution before carrying out assignments in the name of the party. While visitation to local government arms of the party is commendable, it should be done in line with the provision of the party’s guidelines which requires the endorsement of the state working committee which was not done before embarking on the tour.

We urge all members of the party to disregard news or statements that could further threaten the fragile  peace in the party.

Wizkid Concert : PDP’s allegations laughable, misplaced, says APC

Wizkid Concert : PDP’s allegations laughable, misplaced, says APC

Our attention has been brought to another pedestrian comments by the opposition in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  which intends to impugn the integrity of the kwara State Governor, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq  over an  alleged payment of outrageous sums of money for the Wizkid concert in Ilorin.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) views the allegations by the PDP as laughable and equally misplaced given the trend of developmental initiatives by the kwara State Government in the last seven months.

It is laughable as also claimed by Governor AbdulRazaq to accuse the government of financing the end of the year concert with a whooping sum of N200m.

This smacks off mischief and jealousy on the part of the opposition whose stock in trade during their time was to fleece the treasure at slightest opportunity.

The mouthing platitude of the PDP in the statement issued by its State Publicity Secretary  is another orchestrated attempt to divert the attention of the discerning public from the grievous issues  of mis-governance of their failed political dynasty which is being exhumed by the present government.

For instance,  the revocation of the ill glorified “Ile arugbo,” and other illegally acquired plots of land which was initially meant for the Civil service clinic parking lot and Government Secretariat would give way to a new Government Secretariat to  be erected on the land from next year.

It is fresh in our memories of how our former political leaders were pelted with water sachets and stoned during festivals for failure to deliver democractic dividends to the electorates.

The change in narratives coupled with the rare humility exemplified by AbdulRazaq during public events is projecting the present government in good light and diminishing the credibility of the past Leaders.

The implications of these  people oriented policies have provoked the blizzards of fierce bitter attacks on the government, which is not unexpected from the drowning political group.

We advise the PDP as an opposition to be positive in their approach and come up with constructive criticism that would enhance governance.
